Classified Staff 2011 Incentive Award

Frequently Asked Questions

 

Q1:   I am a current employee who was in a regular (not temporary), classified position (full or part-time) on March 31, 2011. Will I receive the one- time, non-base building 3% incentive award?

 A: Yes, as long as you received a performance rating of 2 (meeting expectations) or 3 (exceeding expectations) during the 2010-11 performance management cycle. 

 

Q2: I transferred from a classified position to an exempt professional position on or after April 1, 2011. Will I receive this 3% incentive award?  

 A: Yes.  If you were in a regular, classified position on March 31, 2011 and received a performance rating of 2 or 3 during the 2010-11 performance management cycle, you will receive the one- time, non-base building 3% incentive award.

 

Q3: I promoted from one classified position to another classified position on or after April 1, 2011. Will I receive this 3% incentive award?

 A: Yes. If you were in a regular, classified position, on March 31, 2011 and received a performance rating of 2 or 3 during the 2010-11 performance management cycle, you will receive the one- time, non-base building 3% incentive award based on your annual salary as of March 31, 2011.

 

Q4: I was hired into a classified position on or after April 1, 2011. Am I eligible for this incentive award? 

 A. No.  The purpose of this incentive award is to reward classified staff who received a performance rating of 2 or 3 during the 2010-11 performance cycle.

 

Q5: What is a one-time, non-base building pay incentive award? 

 A: This is a one-time payment you will receive in your October 31, 2011 pay.  This incentive award will not change your current, ongoing monthly base salary. It will increase your pay for this one month only.  

 

Q6: How will this 3% incentive award be calculated?

 A: It will be calculated based on the regular annual base salary you were earning on March 31, 2011. 

 

Q7: I am in a variable (1% on-call) position; will I receive this incentive award?  If so, how will it be calculated?

 A: Yes.  If you are a current employee, were employed on March 31, 2011 and received a performance rating of 2 or 3 during the 2010-11 performance management cycle, you will receive this incentive award as long as you worked during the performance year.  The incentive award will be calculated based on earnings from July 1, 2010 through June 30, 2011. 

 

Q8: If I was promoted or changed my percent of time between April 1, 2010 and March 31, 2011, how will my incentive award be calculated?

 A:  It will be calculated based upon the salary you were earning on March 31, 2011.

  

Q9: I have two part-time positions. How will my 3% incentive award be calculated?

 A:  It will be calculated based on each of the base salary amounts you were earning on March 31, 2011.

 

Q10: Will the dollar amount from my incentive award be taxed?

 A: Yes.  It will be taxed at the same rate as your salary in accordance with your W4.

  

Q11: Will the dollar amount from my incentive award count toward my PERA earnings?

 A: Yes.
